Supply Sergt., Ammunition Train, Co. C, Div. LaFayette, 11th Regt.; of Montgomery Co.; son of V. H. and Martha Deaton. Entered service June, 1918, at Troy, N.C. Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C. Transferred to Camp Meade, Md., then to Camp Greene, N.C. Promoted to Sergt. Aug., 1918. Enlisted in N.C. N. G. July, 1916. Embarked for Serbian duty when Armistice was signed. Mustered out at Camp Greene, N.C., Dec., 1918.
