Corpl., Marines. Born in Cabarrus County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Crowell. Entered the service April 26, 1917, at Charlotte, N.C. Sent to Paris Island, S. C., then sent to Brooklyn, N. Y., and from there to Quantico, Va. Was on U. S. S. “New Mexico.” Mustered out at Quantico, Va., March 18, 1919.
