Euna Faye McAdams, 72, of Baker City, died Aug. 19, 2009, at home with her family by her side.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be a reception afterward at the Baker Elks Lodge, 1896 Second St.
Euna was born on Sept. 12, 1936, at Lancing, Tenn., to Harlin and Mayme Garrett. The family moved to Baker in 1953 where they were involved in the logging industry for many years.
Euna met the love of her life, Hank McAdams, at Boise in the fall of 1955. They were married on Nov. 2, 1956, at Boise.
Euna was a devoted military wife for much of her early married years until Hank’s retirement in 1967. Upon leaving military life the family retired in Baker City where they started an upholstery business. Euna was always a very committed wife and mother. She was actively involved in her children’s activities including Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, hunting, fishing, camping, and many other activities. Euna also enjoyed doing bookkeeping work part time for her brothers’ logging company (appropriately named “Poor Boy Logging”) and wildland firefighting business for many years.
Euna enjoyed everything about being a mother and wife. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoying the many family activities such as playing golf with Hank and her kids as well as their many friends at the Baker City Golf Course. Euna and Hank enjoyed their many years volunteering at the Baker City Golf Course as part of the Social Board and were involved in many of the improvements and additions you see at the golf course today.
