Pierce, Nathan – Obituary

A message to relatives received in Milton Wednesday, states that Nathan Pierce died in San Francisco, Wednesday, the 26th inst., of heart disease. Mr. Pierce left his home about two weeks ago, going to San Francisco for his health. His son Henry was in San Francisco and was in attendance on his father. The remains will be brought from San Francisco and the funeral will probably take place Sunday at Milton, as the body is expected on today’s train. Odell, James – Obituary

James Odell, for a number of years a resident of Union, died in Portland, Oregon, Sunday November 14, 1909, age 74 years, 10 months and 22 days. Interment in Portland. Deceased leaves a wife, Mrs. Minnie Odell; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Swackhamer; and a son, James Odell, of his immediate family, to mourn his loss. James Odell had been a sufferer for a number of years and his death was not unexpected. He was a man of considerable means, having been successful in stock-raising in the Rye Valley country. Keefe, John – Obituary

Friday night last at Union Junction, Sheriff Hug shot and probably fatally injured a man named John Keefe, of Moscow, Idaho, who, it appears, was en route to Baker. The attention of the sheriff was called by a passenger to a man who dropped off No. 18, carrying a bundle and hastening toward some freight cars. The sheriff overtook the man and called to him, finally asking him what he had in the bundle, and for a reply the man threw the bundle in the sheriff’s face and started to run; the sheriff was soon out-footed in the race, and … Read more

Flynn, Catherine Mrs. – Obituary

On Sunday afternoon Mrs. Catherine Flynn, 64, of Nampa, Idaho, was driving with Mr. Flynn returning to their home. In attempting to pass a car several miles east of Baker, the Flynn car ran into loose gravel, breaking one of the rear wheels turning the car completely over, killing Mrs. Flynn almost instantly.
