The funeral of the late Mr. WC Twadell was held on Saturday afternoon, May 22, from the United church, Vermilion, when a large gathering attended to pay their respects to their departed friend and neighbor. The service was conducted by the Rev. L.G Sieber who spoke feelingly of Mr. Twaddell as he had known him on his visits to the home. Interment was made in the Vermllion cemetery. Imnaha, Oregon Marjorie Jean Botts, 78, of Imnaha, died at home on June 4, 2004. She was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Harlowton, Mont., to Frances and Mabel (Sheill) Lenington. At the age of nine Jean moved to Wallowa County with her family. She married Brady Lee Botts in 1945. She worked as a cook for the Enterprise School District for 14 years but liked being a homemaker best. Jean enjoyed camping at Blackhorse Campground, gardening, canning, fishing, hunting, cutting wood and mushrooming. Mrs. Lula Addie Twaddell, 88, died at the home of her daughter 1603 W. Yakima, in Pasco (Washington) early Tuesday (Feb. 15, 1961). She was born in Joplin, MO Aug 31, 1872. At the age of four, she traveled across the Plains in a covered wagon and settled in Paradise, Oregon. Mrs. Twaddell came to Pasco two years ago from Steveston. B.C. where she had lived since 1948. James Eber Twaddell, 96, died Monday at his home 337 SE 79th Avenue. Mr. Twaddell was born in Mercer County, Missouri, March 15, 1853. When he was 12 his parents brought him over the Oregon Trail to Union County. In 1876 he moved to Linn County near Lebanon and there, on May 10, 1878 he married Maria Hare. The family moved to Portland in 1904 when Mr. Twaddell built the house in Montavilla where he lived thereafter. Mrs. Twaddell died in 1940. Rev. Smith who has been helping in the meetings at Wallowa and the Bramlet Chapel returned home the first of the week to conduct funeral services of Mrs Twaddell. Died at her home in Paradise Feb 9, 1902 Mrs Elizabeth Twaddell. Mrs Twaddell was near 76 years old. She leaves a husband and two sons. She suffered a stroke of paralysis three days before her death. Wallowa, Oregon Guy Tully died at the home of his parents here last Saturday evening as a result of the “Flu.” He was 29 years of age, a graduate of the Puyallup, Wash., high school and the Washington State College. T. S. Tibbet Imnaha, Oregon Mrs. S.T. Tippet returned Saturday from Asotin, Wash. where she was called by the death of her son’s wife, Mrs. T. S. Tibbet (sic), on May 12th. She brought home with her the youngest of the four children who where left motherless by this sad event. The mother had been failing health for about a year and they had left their home on the Imnaha last fall to spend the winter in Arizona in hopes of benefiting her; but came back to Asotin seven weeks preceding her death. Enterprise, Oregon Harold Pat Lawrence Throop died May 6, 2007, at the Wallowa Valley Care Center. He was 89. Mr. Throop was born March 17, 1918, in Portland to Herrel R. Throop and Anna Throop Lynch. He grew up on the ranch of his parents, Anna and Charles Lynch. He graduated from high school there in 1936.
