Howard Leslie Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wagner, was born at Enterprise June 6, 1905. He attended the Enterprise schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1925. Born on February 17, 1907, at Elgin, Oregon, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Amy Bills. On August 24, 1925, she was married to Virgil A. Wagner at Payette, Idaho. Charles Wagner died at Camp No. 1 of The East Oregon Lumber Co., last Friday night and was buried in the Enterprise cemetery Sunday afternoon. The funeral was held under the auspices of the Moose lodge. All of his relatives were sick and the funeral party was composed of eight auto loads of Moose members. Funeral services were held for Murland Edwin Waelty Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m., at the Bollman Funeral chapel in Enterprise. Mr. Waelty died at the Grand Ronde hospital in La Grande March 26, 1959, following a long illness. He was born at Summerville, Oregon, March 10, 1888, the son of Albert and Minnie Waelty. Summerville, Wallowa County, Elisabeth Ochsner was born in Naenikon, Canton Zurich, Switzerland, February 27, 1840, and passed to the Great Beyound July 17, 1919, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, 20 days. She came to Lank County, Wisconsin, in 1851 with her parents. In 1859 she married Gottfried (Godfried) Waelty in Waumander, Wisconsin. Christina I. Waelty passed away at the Wallowa County Nursing Home in Enterprise on Saturday, April 23, 1983. She was born on November 3, 1889, the 5th of 10 children born to Peter and Gertrude (Huber) Goebel, and she was their first child born in Wallowa County. She married Murland Edwin Waelty on July 5, 1909 in Enterprise and became the housewife of a rancher for 49 years. Albert Waelty Passes Away Albert Waelty, for a number of years a resident of Middle Valley, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of his son, Murland Waelty. Mr. Waelty has been failing in health for about the last three years and was at the time of his death 69 years of age. He had lived with his son, Murland, for about twenty years. Joseph, Oregon News of the death of Mrs. Sarah Vest of Puyallup, Wash., was received in Joseph, Tuesday. Mrs. Vest was a pioneer resident of Joseph and suffered a paralytic stroke recently and never recovered. Funeral will be held in Joseph and burial in Prarie Creek cemetery. Obituary next week. Enterprise, Oregon Roy Varney, a prominent farmer of Prairie Creek, died Sunday, August 25, 1935, at Hot Lake after having been taken there for treatment following a two weeks illness. He had been in poor health for some time as a result of a serious heart disease but had carried on his usual farm work until his condition became serious two weeks before his death.
