Funeral for Delmer Thomas Bilyeu, Crabtree, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Jost Funeral Home. Don Tosch will officiate and burial will be in Franklin Butte Cemetery near Scio. Mr. Bilyeu, born Oct. 20, 1909, at Dallas, Ore., moved to Crabtree from Cutbank, Mont., in 1947. He was a member of the Crabtree Christian Church. He died today [July 16, 1962] at Lebanon Hospital. Byron Bilyeu, 74, of Kingston, died Sunday at his home. Funeral services will be in Albany, Ore. He was born on Aug. 26, 1896 in Scio, Ore. He was a retired carpenter from the Southern Pacific Railroad and was a member of Junction City Lodge No. 128, F&AM; and the Multnomah Chapter No. 1, Royal Arch Masons of Salem, Ore. Mrs. Bessie Lenore Bilyeu, 67, wife of Lloyd R. Bilyeu, died unexpectedly Friday at her home. A daughter of Abraham and Jane Miller, she was born June 1, 1888 on a farm west of Jefferson in Linn County. She was married on June 2, 1909, and lived near or in Jefferson for her entire life. Surviving besides the widower are two daughters, Lois Underwood and Lael Harper, and one grandson, Stanley Harper, all of Jefferson. Archie M. Bilyeu, retired auto dealer and longtime Portland resident, died Monday [November 6] at 118 Mercury St., Gladstone, where he had made his home since August. He was 78. Paul A. Benz Sr., 91, of Yakima and formerly of Toppenish, died Saturday [October 3, 1987] in Yakima Convalescent Center. Mr. Benz farmed and operated a produce warehouse in the Toppenish area for many years, and was active in the American Legion Post No. 50 of Toppenish. Survivors include two sons: Paul A. The funeral of Mr. Joseph Beatty was held from the house at 10:30 Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Bartholomew of the Hadley Chapel Church. The residence is south of the old packing house, east of the city. The accident was an unusual one, Mr. Beatty was building a new house near where the Rock Island crosses East Fourth Street.
