La Grande, Union County, Oregon Man Killed When Car Goes In Ditch G.W. Hansell, of La Grande, was killed instantly when a touring car he was driving left the Oregon Trail a mile north of Haines early Saturday morning and turned over in a ditch. Hansell was driving alone and authorities who investigated believe he fell asleep at the wheel. Hansell had been employed as a salesman by a Baker automobile agency for the past few weeks. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Union. Ms. Hannah was born Aug. 16, 1932, to Hugh Sheehy and Beth Critchlow Sheehy Fisher in Baker City. Formerly of Cove 1921-2004 Robert Brooks Hancock, 82, of York, Mont., and formerly of Cove died June 1 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Mont. Burial was at Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison, Mont. Mr. Hancock was born Dec. 10, 1921, to Charles and Brooks George Hancock on the family farm near Cove. He had not been strong for several years and had been helpless since he was struck by an automobile May 6, 1938.
