Clifford Charles McDaniel, 92, of Elgin, died Monday, December 14, 1992, at Grande Ronde Hospital. A service will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday at the Elgin Nazarene Church with the Rev. Marshall Vaughn of the La Grande First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Private interment will be at the Summerville Cemetery. Mr. McDaniel was born on Feb. 3, 1900, to S.P. and Viola (Donley) McDaniel in Eifort, Ohio. On July 30, 1927, he married Margaret May McDonald in La Grande. She died on November 30, 1982. Cove, Union County, Oregon Arkley B. “Mac” McCumber, 73, of Cove died Friday morning at his home. He was born May 19, 1914 at Milton to Robert and Millie (Brown) McCumber. McCumber attended school at The Forks, east of Miltonand worked briefly as a ranch hand in Sparta. In 1935, he moved to Juntura where he did reach work. Se served three years in World War II. Foretold Her Death Mrs. Jennetta Carr McComas died yesterday morning at the residnence of her daughter, Mrs. S.A. Pursel, after a lingering illnes. Mrs. McComas came to Union in 1872 from Iowa, where her husband died twenty-one years ago. Died at San Bernardino, California, February 9, 1922 Vella McClellan. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McClellan of Union. She had been an invalid for a number of years and was staying with an aunt in California. Her remains were shipped to Union, arriving Tuesday morning.
