About Watertown, Massachusetts Genealogies and History

This database contains genealogies of primarily the early settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, but also those of later settlers and transient residents. The genealogies are arranged in alphabetical order by surname and then by family groups. For some individuals, biographical information is provided. For others only vital data is provided. A historical memoir of Watertown is also included in this work in the appendix. It is devoted primarily to earlier times and serves more as an introduction to the history of Watertown, rather than an actual history of the town. Watertown is located in Middlesex County just six miles from Boston. It was established in 1630 and was one of the largest settlements of its time.
