About Person County, North Carolina Marriage Records, 1792-1868

Person County, North Carolina was formed from Caswell County in 1791. Person County Marriage Records consists of nearly 3,300 marriage records compiled from bonds, licenses, and ministers' returns on file at the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh. The marriage records are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the bridegroom, with the name of the bride, the date of the record, and the name(s) of a bondsman and/or witness thereafter. For the researcher's convenience, Mrs. Kendall has added a surname index to the brides and a separate surname index to all other persons named in the records.
